M. Salahuddin khan - About the author

In a state of semi-retirement, my first venture into things written and published was as the Publisher of the highly regarded ISLAMICA Magazine. A few years later with time on my hands, I came to writers’ community website www.helium.com (see my biography) where I’ve been a regular if not frequent contributor. I love the freedom of being able to write about anything and have surprised myself by often being ranked among the top 5% to 10% of articles submitted within each category I’ve written for. Emboldened, in December 2009, an idea for a story that was relevant to this moment in history came to me and in a state of frenzied concentration, I was unstoppable until an edit-ready manuscript was in my Macbook Pro. It was time for an editor’s deft hand and I guess I was wise enough to know when to bring in a big gun. Thank you Pam Guerrieri!.

Actually Pam came to me through the excellent services of A1-Editing Services. If you’re into authoring you have to check them out. They have reasonable rates, provide a comprehensive service, and work all kinds of crazy hours to get the job done.

Now, I’m thrilled to have published SIKANDER in the summer of 2010, and even more thrilled to have been graced with the 2010 Los Angeles Book Festival Award’s Grand Prize. Here’s my perspective on why the story’s an important one to tell...

Not to be an artist. “You’ll need to die to be famous” they’d say.

my childhood ambition...

my first job..

my inspiration...

This amazing world we’ve been given

why i write...

To speak from the heart instead of the tongue
